I would have never guessed that 4x4 Lincoln Aviators were the most popular production models made.  I had figured that the 4x2s would have outsold them by a really wide margin.

I actually would expect the 4x4 to be the most popular since Lincoln dealers ordered them decked out.  Few want a "stripper" model Lincoln.

What's wrong with strippers owing a Lincoln Aviator?

From what I've been reading via Ford's press releases, the majority of Lincolns sold today are decked out versions - this seems to match the mid-2000s

30,000 seems low? I wonder what the other years are?

UM, stupid question, and.. y'all should expect many from me for a few months.

how would I tell which model my 2003 Aviator is? I just bought it from auction, and the VIN decoders basically tell me the towing, the inside and outside color, but nothing of the package details, the axle ratio, etc.

oh, and is there a techie forum/thread going on here?  I haven't found it. Being an auction car, theres some work to be done, and I need the down and dirty how to's, not a week search youtube and getting only explorer or Navigator repairs.

Thanks

Sco
