As I am sitting here watching the Lions vs. New Orleans Saints, a Volvo commercial aired and I was wondering how their sales are doing. I still cannot figure out how to take a screen shot on my new Dell, but it's not pretty for Volvo.  Check this out:

With Ford moving more upscale as a premium brand, this is one brand that I don't miss from Ford's portfolio.

Volvo is one of the reasons why Lincoln went down the drain so quickly.  While Volvo got all of the resources, Lincoln didn't get anything and was just left to go away.  The new Lincoln though is coming along nicely.

Volvo is far from dead - a Chinese company now owns them and they are supposed to be bringing out new models soon.  I agree that they have lost their niche as a safety car company though.  All cars in general are safer now.

They whole marketing strategy behind Volvo's early success was SAFETY, although, they don't have that market any longer to themselves - far from it.  The cool factor that replaced Volvo is called Subaru.
