I’m excited! Anxiously awaiting all the details of the new Avi.

Previous owner of a ‘13 and one of the first ‘16 MKXs delivered to my part of the world. Current owner of a ‘16 MKX (I’ve had two!) and ‘11 MKZ as my commuter car (with nearly 300,000 km on the odo). All top-of-the-line.

If the Aviator wasn’t on the horizon, I would have already ordered a new Nautilus. If the Aviator was on a FWD platform, same.

I will be going to the LA auto show on Saturday 12/1. I am holding my excitement though until I find out the specs on the PHEV.  Waiting to see if Ford is serious, which for me means electric only specs of: 30 mile range, 0-60 under 8 seconds and 75mph top speed.

I love everything I've seen/read about the new Aviator.  Even though we don't get BL in Canada, I suspect this vehicle equipped the way I want it will be not too far away from $90,000 which is around the price of a top-level X5 or GLE here.  I am usually a positive person, but I have my doubts that Lincoln engineering and the assembly folks can pull this vehicle off in a high-quality manner.  I also doubt it will be available on time.

One thing I've read that I hope is incorrect is that the Grand Touring version is only available with the machine spun aluminum trim.  I had aluminum trim in my first MKX and really dislike the coldness it adds to the ambience... I much prefer the wood veneers - especially the open pore in my current X.

I hope I'm proven wrong when it comes time to place my order...
